Uncle Sam Band

Uncle Sam Band was formed in the early 70's on the Ole Miss Campus. The horn section was made up of several members of the Ole Miss Bands. The vocals and rhythm section were composed of other Ole Miss students and one local high school student who played guitar. The Band played horn band music of the 70’s as well as Motown hits. The song list included Chicago, BS&T, Santana and the top 40 soul hits of the day.

Uncle Sam Played many dance parties around the SEC and traveled a five state area on a blue school bus with the Uncle Sam logo painted on the side.

Five years ago Uncle Sam held a reunion concert at a venue close to the square. The house was packed and rocked until the doors closed.  That night the band made a decision to start performing again and it feels like Uncle Sam never left the road.
